LifeHouse Partner Spotlights

Much of what LifeHouse Ministries is directly ties to our In-House Partners. We work to help make their mission easier to attain by offering free office space to our Partners. Currently, LifeHouse is home to Jackson Youth for Christ and Jackson Leadership Foundation. Please take a moment to learn a little about these great organizations and the good they are doing in their communities.

Jackson Youth for Christ

About:

Jackson Youth for Christ is part of YFC USA and we have a combined goal to reach 1 million lost kids in authentic, Christ-sharing relationships. Currently, we are engaging over 133,000 students between the ages of 11 and 19. We will reach 1 million kids by utilizing committed staff that understand ministry multiplication, and who will work to and raise up an army of 20,000 volunteers.

Jackson YFC is “building our part of the wall” (Nehemiah 3) by targeting middle schools in the tri-county area where there are over 15,000 students attending 24 middle schools. This school year we were in 3 of these middle schools working with around 300 students weekly in our Campus Life ministry.

Our Campus Life will expand its reach this next school year with opportunities to share the Gospel with lost kids in Hinds, Madison, and Rankin counties. Like every ministry of YFC, Campus Life seeks to engage these young people wherever they are found as life-long followers of Jesus Christ.

It’s our passion to see lost kids come to know Christ and then become engaged in authentic Christ-sharing relationships with adult leaders. To make this happen, we will need to train and empower a relational army of student and adult leaders. A minimum of 20 adult volunteer leaders is needed at each ministry site.

2018-2019 School Year:

We are looking for partners who would like to join the movement of Youth for Christ as we do our part in reaching 1 million lost kids. We also need to add more volunteer leaders and resources as we look to reach more of the 15,000 middle school students living in our area. We hope to add two more schools in the first part of the 2019 school year to expand our reach to over 500 middle school students per week.

Prayer request:

Please pray with us as we begin the process of meeting with school administrators of the two new sites we would like to start. As ministry grows so does the cost of doing ministry, please pray that we will have new giving partners who will join with us in our mission to reach lost and hurting kids. Pray also for the funding to send 10 to 15 kids to camp this summer.

Jackson Leadership Foundation

About Us:

Jackson Leadership Foundation exists to help Christians in our metro area transform Jackson’s inner-city communities. We do this by offering capacity building support services to inner-city ministry leaders. We also offer training and consult with churches, organizations, and others in our resourced communities, who want to know how they can best mobilize people to make a difference in inner-city Jackson.

Jackson Leadership Foundation started in Fall 2018 as a vision by Dr. John Perkins and other leaders, who wanted to provide a platform to help Christians in the Jackson metro area be a part of transformation in inner-city Jackson. Samuel Bolen serves as the Executive Director of Jackson Leadership Foundation. As someone from the Jackson metro area, Samuel knows what it feels like to want to make a difference in inner-city communities in Jackson. Samuel’s passion is to connect people across socioeconomic, ethnic, and geographical lines for the sake of community transformation. Samuel has ministered in both the inner-city and suburban areas of Jackson and is excited to bring this unique experience to JLF.

2019:

We are excited about 2019. We have seen a strong start to the year! We are currently working with 3 inner-city ministry partners. JLF has helped our partners set their 2019 goals. We meet with our partners regularly to see where they are on their goal progress and how we can help them achieve their goals. We also are working to set up back-office services for our partners in order to provide the accounting and legal services they need to grow their organizations.

JLF has also been contacted by 5 churches so far this year asking if we would provide training to their church leadership as to how they can best mobilize their people to make a difference in inner-city Jackson through our partners and other ministries in the city.

Prayer Request:

Pray that the Lord would show JLF how we can expand our services to more inner-city ministries. Pray also that the Lord would continue to use us to train churches in the metro area on how to best mobilize their people to make a difference in the inner-city.
